Many claimants aren’t sure of exactly what to expect at their hearing before an Administrative Law Judge at the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board (CUIAB). After you file your appeal, the appeals office will send you a Notice of Hearing which lists the issues that will be considered at your hearing. However, the Notice of Hearing fails to indicate what specific questions will asked of you at the hearing. Thus, many have no idea what to do/say at the hearing. Claimants unrepresented by an experienced Unemployment Lawyer often make careless and damaging statements, which can easily disqualify a claimant from eligibility.
